Muthayammal Memorial College of Arts and Science (MMCAS) was set up in 2014 and is affiliated with a university. Located in a large beautiful compound of 10.98 acres, MMCAS delivers 14 courses in 8 programmes levels. It enrols total students of 1254 for all degree programmes and with a faculty of ninety-four members. MMCAS offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Arts, Science and Commerce to suit the students’ taste and desires. The college is comparatively new and has been enlarging its streams and construction with the changing demands of the institutions.

This college acknowledges the importance of creating suitable learning contexts for the students. Most of these are available at MMCAS to improve the learning process of students as well as facilitate other activities. Boys and girls have different student hostels for accommodation within the campus to facilitate out-station students. Every accommodation has simple equipment and each room in the hostel follows certain security measures. The college library is a reservoir of information providing for information delivery to educate students in their chosen fields. It uses current innovations that make sure that the provision of improved resources for the students. Concerning the language skill development, MMCAS has established sophisticated language laboratory with a view to improving the standard English language ability with reference to international language abilities tests.

MMCAS provide the following courses of study with 14 programmes in total. The undergraduate courses are spread across diverse fields of study i.e. the Arts (Bachelor of Arts with English), Commerce (B.Com, B.Com with Computer Applications), Management (B.B.A.), Science (B.Sc Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry & Computer Science). At postgraduate level, the college offers MA in English, M.Sc in Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics, M.Com. All these courses are completed full-time, and meant to give detailed information and practical skills concerning certain fields. For all the courses altogether the intake approval is 1254, this shows that the college has the capacity of admitting a large number of students within different fields of study.

Admission policy of Muthayammal Memorial College of Arts and Science College follows the policy as a Tamil Nadu government. As a rule, admissions to the bachelor’s programmes take place considering the results of the final certificate, for example in the 12th grade. Postgraduate admission especially at the Masters’ level M.Sc are also done in line with state government regulation.
