Nagarjuna College of Teacher Education is one such institution situated in Mahabubnagar, Telangana and runs dedicatedly for the would-be teachers. This affiliated college was set up in 2008 and it has been taking part in changing the society and education system for more than ten years. The college is located in a small piece of land measuring 0.6 acres and therefore the College provides a small scale environment for learning. As per the current enrolment there are 65 student and 9 faculty members that provide individual focus and educate the students in the field of teaching.

Nagarjuna College of Teacher Education have well equipped facilities aimed at improving the learning environment of the learners. In other words, the library plays a significant role of ensuring students, academics and other users acquire focal mediums for learning and research. With regard to the latest trends in college education, this college has a well developed IT complex, thus students can master the latest techniques of distance learning. The institution also understands the need for skill application, where it provides departmental based lab where students can actualise the theory learned on real life bases. Studying the importance of balance between the academic and physical development the college offers its students sports grounds to develop both muscular strength and cooperation skills.

Nagarjuna College of Teacher Education at present has only one main course i.e. Diploma in Education (D.Ed). This is a post-secondary programme that is takes two years of full time study, and prepares students to be effective teachers in the context of primary schools. The course has an approved intake of 50 students and this is because the college has maintainable students per teacher ratio so as to ensure that students are well taught. This approach of selection is advantageous to the institution as it is able to concentrate the available resources and specialisation in developing quality teacher education.

As per the norms of state government and UT Administration the selection criteria for admission to Nagarjuna College of Teacher Education is purely on merit basis. The prospective students are selected based on the qualification exam or entrance exam or any other assessment mode as follow as per the authorities. This helps the college admit students who possess an ability to succeed in their programme of studying education.

National Council for Teacher Education or NCTE is a statutory body that has responsibility for the standards, norms and quality in teacher education system in India and our college, the Nagarjuna College of Teacher Education is approved by this body. This approval confirms with the stands of the college with regards to high standard education and production of competent teachers for the future.
