Nagarjuna Government College at Nalgonda was instituted in 1956 and is one of the premier autonomous colleges in Telangana State, India. Sited on a sprawling 23.6 acre, the college got accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Currently the institute has a student population of 4,469 and provides 14 courses in seven degree programmes. The college has a faculty of 118 members and thus has a dense leaning towards student friendly faculty ratios. Nagarjuna Government College aims at ensuring that all facilities that are central to learning needs of its students are comprehensively outfitted with modern technology requirements. It has 26 elegantly equipped laboratories among which are Telangana Skill & Knowledge Centre Lab, English Language Lab, Commerce Lab etc. It now also acts as an information centre for the students and other members of the faculty. The college has vast play fields and a mini-stadium where we have facilities for different types of games and encourages different types of inter collegiate, inter district and national competitions. Adequate and up to date computers and other IT facilities are available in the campus to make the students update themselves with the existing technologically advanced things. Other facilities are a dining hall, a hall for meetings, seminars, etc., a dispensary with a first aid station, and a gym for the physically active.
Nagarjuna Government College provides a number of courses to address the need of students having a bent in different fields of education. Out of the above mentioned categorised courses, the institute offers 14 courses including both undergraduate and post graduate courses. Some of the specialised under graduates courses offered includes B.Sc Life Sciences with 420 intake, B.Sc Physical Sciences 420 and B.Com Computer Application 240 and 180 seats in BA respectively. The college also has more focused choices as a B.Com in Taxation and Business Analytics and business bachelor of business administration, both with 60 seats. For the post graduates the college offers MA in Telugu & Economics, M.Sc in Chemistry, Zoology,Computer Science and M.Com.
