Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College (NMREC) was established in 2001 of Ghatkesar, Telangana and is affiliated under autonomous college. Based in a 10-acre campus, NMREC comprises a large variety of engineering and management courses. The college is NAAC accredited and AICTE approve and recognised college. As a whole there are 2073 students and faculty strength is 189 and at NMREC, there is an offer of 12 courses under 3 programmes. The obvious gender distribution of Institute shows that 71% students are male and 29% are Female students in undergraduate programmes and 64% are male and 36% are female in postgraduate programmes.

Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College provides expound and diverse facilities for improving the learning process of the students. Hostel facilities of the campus include specially built hostel for each sex having solar water heaters, mineral water plants and round the clock security. A health centre is available together with an on-call doctor who treats patients in cases of an emergency. Currently the college library boasts of having books, journals, and periodicals for learners, students and staff in addition to having over 5,000 online e-journals and 300+ e-books. For demanding people in the field of sports, this university offers indoor and outdoor sports complex like athletic, badminton, basketball, cricket etc. IT infrastructure is sound encompassing vast numbers of academics, instructional, administrative, and research activities.

Currently, NMREC provides its clientele a total of eleven courses of study at both the undergraduate level and postgraduate level. The institute offers only the regular B.Tech courses in disciplines of engineering and an MBA course. The approved intakes for all the courses are 798 students. The college student population in the academic year was 2,074 under graduate students and 56 post graduate students. The institute aims at producing quality education in numerous discipline areas and specially in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning apart from the branches of engineering.

NMREC has different admission requirements for programmes, and quotas may also vary as well. For all undergraduate engineering programmes, admission to the Convenor seat or Category ‘A’ is offered through the Telangana State Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) for the current academic year. Students also admissions in seats directly by approaching the college under ‘Category ‘B’, managerial quota. The admission to MBA is conducted through counselling of TSICET for convenor quota and the separate form for management quota is followed. For postgraduate engineering programmes the college accepts scores from the Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET). NMREC finance 265 undergraduate and 11 postgraduate students by giving reimbursement in the 2022 year academic.
