Namboodiris College of Teacher Education is an esteemed college based at Irinjalakuda, Kerala formed with an intention to build the future of education. This co-educational college was founded in 2009 and over the years it became a recognizable college for the training of teachers. Accredited to the University of Calicut, the college has the permission of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) which guarantees a desire for better educational quality. Having a total student capacity of 100 students and a faculty of 9, Namboodiris has a small student intake which makes it possible for students to be very much in touch with their teachers.

Namboodiris College of Teacher Education has a facility that aims to improve the learning outcomes of the students that attend the facility. Central to these are a library with complete collections of books, journals, magazines and digital media resources on different facet of education and teaching. For those with passion in sporting activities, the college provides exercising equipments to enable students have better healthy life styles during work and study. Though Namboodiris is not technology impaired – it has a computerised lab with internet connection where after making students undergo training sessions in different software packages for sharpening their IT skills, the lab is air conditioned. The college also has a canteen to help students and staffs to take a break from their studies and take something to eat.

Namboodiris College of Teacher Education currently offers one primary course: the program referred to as Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). PRI’s is a two-year full time course which prepares prospective teachers to meet the challenges and requirements of a professional education. This college has a limit of 50 students for this program to ensure that all the students get the attention that they deserve and quality education. As the college targets this primary service, it offers a broad and deep educational program that trains students for the complex professional identity of today’s teacher.

Namboodiris College of Teacher Education also admitted all first year students based on merit as a result, the institution remains a noble institution. Students applying for admission to STC are selected on the basis of the performance they posted previously; the channel ensures that it offers education to learners with strong academic background with a view of training them to become competent teachers. 

Namboodiris College of Teacher Education also provides supplementary materials that will help in students development other than academic training. The college has a Training and Placement Cell which is fully equipped to find the probable employers of the students in the education sector. This cell prints and distributes an annual placement brochure offering the skills of professionals leaving the institution to prospective employers.
