Nandha College of Technology, Erode, is one of the best engineering institutions approved by the AICTE and accredited by NAAC. The NCT admission calendar is generally in tune with that of Tamil Nadu universities. Of course, the exact dates might vary from year to year, but the admission process is generally considered to have started after the declaration of the 12th standard results, generally between May and June. Admission to undergraduate programs is through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) on the basis of marks obtained in the 12th standard examination. The minimum eligibility for undergraduate programs is to have completed the study of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects.

The candidates should have secured at least a minimum aggregate as prescribed by the Tamil Nadu government in the respective academic year. For the postgraduate programs, a graduation degree in the relevant discipline of engineering is required. For undergraduate programs, admissions to varying courses are based on the scores secured in national-level entrance examinations excluding TNEA, which is the only recognized main undergraduate entrance examination. For the postgraduate programs, especially M.E. programs, the entrance scores of Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) are considered.

B.E./B.Tech Programs:

1. Qualifying 12th standard exam with required subjects and minimum marks.
2. Register for the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) process.
3. Fill up TNEA application form, attach all necessary documents, submit.
4. If shortlisted, participate in the counseling process of TNEA.
5. Report to the college for verification of documents and admission procedure, in case of seat allotment at NCT.

For M.E. Programs:

1. Qualify in TANCET examination.
2. Apply through TANCET counseling process.
3. Attend the counseling, if shortlisted, with all required documents.
4. If allotted a seat, complete the admission process at NCT.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.E./B.Tech Programs: Four-year degree programs by NCT cover the fields of Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The admission procedure relating to the above programs shall consist of:

1. Regular Admission: For students joining the first semester of the eight-semester B.E./B.Tech program.
2. Lateral Entry Admission: For diploma holders joining directly in the third semester.

The eligibility criteria are set out by the University and recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu. At present, the total intake in the college is 360 seats for undergraduate programs, with Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology seeing a maximum intake of 120 seats each.

M.E. Programs: NCT offers postgraduate programs in Computer Science and Engineering and Communication Systems. Admission is through TANCET scoring for M.E. Candidates with relevant degrees in B.E./B.Tech may apply. The intake rate for these programs in the college is 6 seats for each.
