Narayana College of Physiotherapy, Nellore, has evolved into a specialized institution for physiotherapy education. The undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered by the college encompass 4 courses spread across two degree levels. The admission criteria and eligibility depend on the programs. Candidates are expected to have a clear base in science subjects with a bias toward biology since physiotherapy is health-oriented.
Application Process
Narayana College of Physiotherapy admission process, according to standard physiotherapy education practice:
1. Online Application: Candidates are most likely required to fill in an application form online on the college web page. This form should include fields pertaining to personal information, academic qualifications, and choice of program.
2. Documents: Candidates might be required to submit necessitated documents which might include:
3. Application Fee Payment: An application fee may need to be paid. The amount of this application fee and the method of payment will be specified on the college website.
4. Entrance Test/Interview: Although it's not mentioned, an entrance test or interview for assessing applicants on knowledge and aptitude for physiotherapy might be conducted, particularly at the postgraduate level.
5. Publication of the Merit List: Selected candidates will be announced in the merit list based on certain parameters which could include academic merits, marks in the entrance exam (if applicable), and interview marks.
6. Document Verification and Admission Confirmation: Shortlisted students will be called for document verification, post which candidates could secure their admission by payment of their fees.
7. Orientation and Start of Classes: The admitted students are expected to undergo an orientation program before the commencement of regular classes.
Degree wise Admission Process
BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy): BPT is regarded as the flagship undergraduate program at Narayana College of Physiotherapy, the intake being 50 seats; the admission process probably considers the performance of the candidate in 10+2, with a bias toward science subjects. Interested students are expected to have a good foundation in biology, physics, and chemistry.
MPT (Master of Physiotherapy): The college admits postgraduates to three specialized programs with an intake of 12 for MPT in each specialization.
1. MPT in Neurology: This specialization is essentially for physiotherapy headed toward rehabilitation. Admission is assumed to be based first on BPT marks but may involve entrance tests, interviews, or other.
2. MPT in Orthopaedics: Specializing in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, these applications would consider BPT scores with some experience in orthopaedic-related physiotherapy.
3. MPT in Cardiorespiratory: This deals with cardiovascular and respiratory physiotherapy. Admission criteria include BPT scores and possibly a strong statement of interest in this area.
In all cases, candidates for these MPT programs are assumed to have completed their BPT from an accredited institution. The college may conduct its own entrance test or interview to assess the candidates' suitability for these specialized programs.
