National Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital Lucknow was established in 1921 and therefore is quite traditional homeopathic medical college having long 100 years experience in education field. This is co-educational institution that is located in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh and has a size of half an acre. It was approved by the Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH) and was affiliated as a running college to provide specialised medical education in homoeopathy. It has a total enrolment of 300 students in the different programmes offered by the institute with a team of 11 faculty members. There are 4 courses and 2 degrees offered in the college that aims in producing highly skilled Homoeopathic professional along with researcher. The college also has laid down facilities meant for improving teaching and learning process as well as the development of students. 

A well stocked library is posted as a service providing a wide access to medical journals and research papers. Modern laboratories are vital for developing practical skills as it is important when learning medicine. The campus comprises of new generation learning instruction facilities for efficient tutorial delivery. For Extra Co-Curricular Activities; sports amenities are provided for the development of the extra-curricular physical abilities of the learners. An auditorium is designed for hosting academic activities, lectures, seminars as well as cultural activities. National Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital too has accommodation for boys and girls to make of out-station students comfortable. Currently, the institute is runs four full time programmes; one at undergraduate level, three at postgraduate level. The flagship programme is the Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) which are of six years duration with an intake capacity of 125. At the postgraduate level, the college offers three specialised MD programmes: The M.D. course in Homoeopathic system of medicines thus comprises of three years duration each of M.D. Homoeopathic Philosophy, M.D. Repertory and M.D. Materia Medica. The MD Repertory and MD Materia Medica takes in 7 and 8 students respectively. Attached to these courses, the D.U is aiming at creating skilled homoeopathic practitioners and researchers hence putting development in this another system of medicine. 

National Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital follows national level admission tests for the students seeking admission to its institutions. For the BHMS programme, candidates themselves seek admission through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted for medical candidates across the country. The following criteria should be met when applying to a private medical or dental school: a candidate sitting for the test must achieve a minimum cut off mark in the National Examination for entering tertiary institution, commonly known as NEET. For becoming a post graduate (MD courses) the students have to clear the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET). This proactively ensures that the college only admit students that have good foundation and ability to pursue homoeopathic course. The institute follows the admission schedule of these national level examinations, normally held once in a year. However, there is no specific information concerning the scholarship, but the students can query the college authority for such a fee. Education quality on homoeopathy courses has also placed the college in a good light as many first and second year students come from different parts of the country with an interest in practicing homoeopathy as an area of alternative medicine.
