Established in 1995, the National Institute of Fashion Technology Kolkata has positioned itself as a frontrunner in the Eastern region of India for imparting education in the domains of Design, Technology, and Management. NIFT Kolkata proudly holds the distinction of being one of the five oldest NIFT Centers. NIFT Kolkata's pioneering status in fashion education and research is underscored by its symbiotic partnership with both the state government and the garment industries.
NIFT Kolkata offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the field of Fashion and Textile Technology. Courses at NIFT Kolkata include a 4-year B.Des programme and a 2-year MFM programme. NIFT Kolkata B.Des programme offers specialisations in Fashion Design, Accessory Design, Textile Design, Leather Design, Fashion Communication, Knitwear Design and BFT in Apparel Production.
B.Des admission to NIFT Kolkata is based on the NIFT Entrance Examination. Whereas, for MFM admissions candidates need to appear for GMAT examination. NIFT Kolkata also offers placement opportunities to their students through their placement cell.

College Infrastructure
The College premises is quite small but enough. Has abundant resources and anything and everything a student needs. The building is old but very elegant and neatly kept. Extremely hygienic and hospitable.
It's a truly wholesome experience.
