National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training & Research (NITTTR), Kolkata is a special college that started in 1965 to help teachers and staff who work at technical schools and colleges. It was one of the first four colleges like this in India, supported by the government. They give training to teachers and staff, and they also work on making technical education better in India. In 2003, the government made it a national institute because of its good work in improving technical education.Affiliated under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Kolkata, NITTTR is recognised by AICTE.
National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training & Research Kolkata Courses include M.Tech Mechatronics Engineering, M.Tech Manufacturing Technology, M.Tech Multimedia Software Systems, M.Tech Structural Engineering, Ph.D Civil Engineering, Ph.D Computer Science and Engineering, Ph.D Mechanical Engineering and Ph.D Electrical Engineering. Admission in the M.Tech course is granted through the GATE entrance exam. The P.hD admissions are done both direct and indirect.

National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training & Research Kolkata admission in M.Tech course is done on the basis of GATE entrance exam. For Ph.D. admissions, there are two ways: direct and indirect. Direct aspirants have to be UGC-NET, JRF, or SET qualified. For indirect admission, aspirants have to appear for an entrance test followed by an interview to check their suitability for the programme. So, if one meets the eligibility criteria and follows the application process, one has a chance to study at NITTTR Kolkata in M.Tech or Ph.D. programmes.

- Shortlisted candidates have to undergo document verification and have to pay the fees.

P.hD in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and CSE are offered at doctoral level. The duration of the P.hD Course is 3 years.

NITTTR Kolkata P.hD Admission Process
- Candidates must fill the application form with all required details.
- For Ph.D. admissions, there are two ways: direct and indirect.
Direct Admission: If you have qualified in UGC-NET, JRF, or SET, you can apply directly. This means you've already shown your knowledge in these national-level exams.
Indirect Admission: If you haven't qualified in those exams, you can still apply for Ph.D. In this case, there's usually an entrance test followed by an interview to check your suitability for the programme.
Final admission is done after documents verification and by paying the fees.
