The Neelkanth Group of Institutions was established in 2007 by the Sri Siva Venkateswara Educational and Social Welfare Trust to produce engineers, managers and entrepreneurs who can meet the growing needs of the expanding Indian economy. Neelkanth Institute of Technology (NIT) is Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) - New Delhi and affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (Formerly Uttar Pradesh Technical University), Lucknow, UP.

NIT Meerut courses include a four-year full-time B.Tech program in CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and an M.Tech in CSE and ECE programme. The NIT Meerut application fees for UG/ PG admission are Rs 1000 (GN/OBC) and Rs 500 (SC/ST) and collect the online registration slip. The NUBY Scholarship Program is a fee-waiver facility that rewards meritorious students and supports priority education for female applicants. The NUBY Scholarship scheme can be availed only by candidates applying through the UPSEE/ JEECUP Counseling scheme or appearing in NGI monthly counselling sessions.

The NIT Meerut scholarship offer is applicable only towards the tuition fee for the normal duration of the course and does not cover any examination/ Backlog/ Reappear fee. The NIT scholarship is not applicable towards the Hostel/Residential Facility Fee.
