NCP Thrissur: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Get information on Nehru College of Pharmacy Thrissur started in the year 2003 is an affiliated college in Thrissur, Kerala. This co-educational institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India provides different courses in Pharmacy. Spread across a 40-acre campus, NCP Thrissur is an institute of over 658 students and a teaching staff of 44 members. The college offers 9 courses in 5 degree levels with focus on different pharmaceutical disciplines. The institute represents students with a female majority (505) in comparison to males (119) The students’ distribution in undergraduate (66%) and postgraduate (34) programs.

The NCP Thrissur provides the student with a variety of amenities to make learning even more interesting. The college boasts of a well stocked library and students are able to find many pharmaceutical related materials to read and learn from. The technology standard laboratories are for different departments where the practical experiences are needed for pharmacy courses. 

An auditorium is used for events and seminars, which contribute to academic and co curricular activities. The campus includes a canteen, first aid facilities in a health centre, and up to date computer and communications networks. For students’ body health there are gym and different facilities for sports. The college also has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls to offer comfortable stay for out station students. There is guest house for appearing faculties and students’ guest or any member of student’s family. Since traffic is always a big issue, the college provides means of transport to different routes.

NCP Thrissur has a programmed academic offering solutions for different levels of pharmaceutical education. The institute offers 9 courses and among them full time is offered at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level. Course also includes B.Pharma, D.Pharma, Pharm. D, M.Pharma with specialties in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, and in Pharmacy Practice and PhD in these specialties. The B.Pharma program and D.Pharma program have got a sanctioned intake of 100 and 60 respectively. A total of 658 students enrolment across various courses to cater for the institute’s student intake policy that has a hallmark of quality by admitting reasonable number of students for a course to facilitate adequate attendance and learning.

NCP Thrissur has developed strategic and standard procedure that needs to be followed while admitting the students. Further, details regarding the admission criteria for every particular course are lacking but normally the pharmacy colleges recruit candidates on the basis of their academic performance in the relevant courses and entrance tests. The college probably avails, scores on pharmacy entrance examinations, for entry into several of its programs. An emphasis is laid on the financial aid provided to the students of NCP Thrissur; 34 students out of 413 students in the undergraduate course are availing scholarship or fees concession during the academic year 2022.
