NEST Institute of Humanities and Basic Sciences, Kannur, was started in 2013 and is an aided college situated in Payyanur, Kerala. This institute provides undergraduate and post graduate programs in humanities and basic sciences. NEST Institute has a total student admission capacity of 227 and has a faculty of 16 numbers. 

The institute offers a variety of amenities to improve the situation of student learning. A well equipped sports complex provides the student with near cohesion to many activities such as football, badminton, cricket, volley ball among others. Across more than 4000 books, the digital library provides important sources and support to the research and academic processes. The college has provided the students with a computer center with forty computers which are important in enhancing technical skills of the learners. Internet connection throughout the campus enables printing and access to resources on the internet.
