NH Patel College of Education was founded in the year 1971, and since its inception, it has emerged as a leading teacher education center in Anand, Gujarat. It's a co-educational college affiliated with Sardar Patel University and recognised by National Council for Teacher Education. The college is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council; it states the quality of the college. NH Patel College of Education has a faculty strength of 8, and an enrolment of 103 students in two specialised courses in teacher education—preparing a large number of budding teachers in the areas under consideration.

NH Patel College Of Education has two full-time programs under teacher's education: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd). Both are two-year courses. Each course has got an intake of 50 approved students, and thus a total seating capacity of 100 students. The course structure is designed in a manner to provide an opportunity for students to learn both educational theories and relative practices simultaneously and thus be able to acquire those relevant skills necessary to work effectively in teaching practice, across the different educational settings.    

The admission procedure at NH Patel College of Education is different for different courses. The university enrolment is centrally done through Sardar Patel University to ensure that the selection process is fair and transparent into a B.Ed programme. Eligibility is decided based on the criteria of eligibility and/or university/prescribed in qualifying examinations and/or entrance test. Admissions to the D.El.Ed program shall be made completely on a merit basis obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination as per the norms decided by the state government or the UT administration.
