Nightingale College of Education, Ludhiana Session :Co-Education Established Year : 2014 Vision : Preparing and nurturing future educators. Situated at VPO Narangwal Kalan, Pakhowal, Ludhiana, Punjab, this affiliated college runs under the permission of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). With a campus area of only 1.24 acres the college now has the strength of 193 students and faculty of only 11 teachers. Nightingale College of Education currently only has one programme on offer, the Bachelor of Education also known as B.ed.

Nightingale College of Education’s commitment, it seeks to ensure that students under its stewardship receive all round education. It provides all customer needs and a variety of amenities; academic and social support services. The library is said to be an information center where books for use by students are found. Those who prefer a physically active lifestyle may enjoy the modern gym facility on the territory of the university. The college equally appreciates the pragmatic view in learning and as such, offers departmental laboratory to enhance learners’ learning experiences. The school aims to meet all the needs of its students hence has a health centre which provides first aid services for the community of Nightingale College of Education. And also facilities of sport which also helps to balance the process of education paying attention at the physical training process.

At Nightingale College of Education, B.Ed programme has a capacity to take one hundred students, and the college offers a full time two year course for anyone who wants to venture in teaching business. This niche strategy also helps to sustain the collegewise student faculty ratio and to provide quality and focused education. Its characteristics are to equip prospective educators with a double set of tools – theoretical and practical, necessary for a contemporary educator, and to offer an advanced level of training to those who already work in the field.

There is no entrance examination conducted at Nightingale College of Education; it admitted students depending on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The admission process of the college is in compliance with the admission policy formulated and spelt by the state government, U.T. Administration and the affiliated university. This is why the competitive selection works best by avoiding favouritism in admitting members and students in school. As for the application deadlines, prospective students are asked to visit the college’s web-site or directly contact the Admission Office to get the timetable of the given year.

Nightingale College of Education also provides hostel for female students to compensate for those students coming from distant areas of the region for their studies. This facility not only provides enough accommodation with comfort, but also creates the students’ sense of belonging. In as much as the college fosters a supportive environment for learning; the physical facilities available include an auditorium for event and seminar while the college canteen doubles as a social place for students and the staff.
