Nirmala Sadan Training College for special education is a special college in Muvattupuzha, Kerala which trains teachers for special education. Founded in 2003, this college is co-educational and it has been producing professionals who can satisfactorily handle students with learning disabilities. Being an accredited member of the relevant governmental and national education bodies, the college has been granted NCTE – National Council for Teacher Education – affiliation. The college admits only 80 students in each batch, targets full time programs and offers wide spectrum of courses related to different phenomena of special education hence is the only college of its kind in the region.

To support the academic experience of the student, the college owns diverse resourceful facilities. A modern library is information center that needs to contain essential materials to help in research and learning needs of special education. For the people those who have interest in exercises and leisure, there are sporting complexes for recreation to enhance the proportion between work and play. NSS Training College has four specialized in special education and all the particular courses are full time. There teaching can be grouped under learning disabilities and mental retardation to some extent because the college curriculum is comprehensive to offer all types of special education. This means it can only admit one hundred students in each of the courses offered, which explains why each of the courses is given personalized attention. 

There are two B.Ed. Special Education programs of 30 students each: Learning Disability and Mental Retardation. Further, offered is D.Ed. Special Education in Mental Retardation for 30 students and an M.Ed. Special Education in Mental Retardation with the intake capacity of 10 students, enabling the student to study further in this specialisation.
