About NMDC DAV Polytechnic, Dantewada
NMDC DAV Polytechnic, Dantewada, was established in the year 2010 as a prime technical institution in Dakshin Bastar, Chhattisgarh. The college is fully funded through NMDC's CSR initiative and is an affiliated college with approval from All India Council for Technical Education. The institute is spread over 15.5 acres, with two diploma programmes: Engineering and Architecture. The enrolment of students was 307, and there were 19 faculty members. The college is affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai. There are three departments in the college including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Basic Science and Humanities.
NMDC DAV Polytechnic has various facilities to improve the academic and personal development of its students. The college campus is supported by well-equipped laboratories, a library fully stocked with e-resources and OPAC systems, and modern IT infrastructure. Separate boys and girls hostels provide students with comfortable and safe stays. Sports facilities, an open gym, and a cafeteria are available for students. A spacious auditorium with audio-visual aids is provided for all cultural and academic activities. The institution provides transportation facilities to the students and staff who commute from different parts of the city.
At present, NMDC DAV Polytechnic, Dantewada is offering two full-time diploma courses i.e, Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with approved intake of 60 students in each programme, adding to a total of 120 seats in both the programmes. The duration of these diploma programmes shall be of three years.
