Nowboicha College, Lakhimpur, admitting its first batch of students in the session 1985-86, is a co-education affiliated college at Lakhimpur, Assam. Based in a sprawling 17-acre campus, the institution currently teaches 12 courses in 4 degree programmes while offering arts and commerce related courses. This college is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the total admission strengths of the college are 406. Nowboicha College is committed to deliver quality education in different streams, with 22 teaching staffs are available and some courses are as follows- Assamese, English, Economics, Political Science, etc. 

This college has a number of amenities to ensure students improve their learning style throughout their college years. An academic, research and learning resource centre: Every academic discipline has a reference section while departmental libraries are available for honors course students. This is also proved by presence of computer Lab which contains the necessary modern equipments that assist the students in producing IT basics skills. For a college’s physical fitness and recreational needs, the college offers facilities for a gym and sports. A hall accommodates various events, and involves the students in student activities through seminars. College canteen remains a central place in the college whereby students and staff spend most of their break times interacting with each other. Nowboicha College provides a broad spectrum of full- time course mainly of art stream. Among them, the Bachelor of Arts is the most popular, which can recruit 300 students each year. 

Furthermore, the college has specific honors courses in Assamese, English, Economics, Political Science, Education, History, Philosophy and Sociology, Geography etc. Recently, the institution has also included Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) general & hence, honors to their list of programmes offered. The total approved intake of all the offered courses is 600 students as the college aims at availing education opportunities in the region.
