Oriental College of Education and Research, Mumbai, was set up in 2001. This affiliated college is in Andheri West and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Located at a small area of 0.61 acres, the college provides a concentrated academic opportunity for the students who want to become educators. The students’ enrolment capacity stands at 141 while the institute has the strength of 8 faculties more than students, which makes the student-teacher ratio to be favourable for individual attention and counselling. The college has many facilities that were developed to improve the learning environment for the learners. 

A resourceful library is essential and it means a collection of books and educational journals and periodicals which is pertinent to education. The technological aspect can be seen from the basic computer laboratory with thirty networked computers and an audio visual facility with a data projector. Such arrangement provides for creativity and interactivity of learning processes. Oriental College of Education and Research also provides opportunity to sports enthusiasts through out the college campus where the local sports enthusiasts can practice on the available courts such as basketball, tennis and volleyball etc. for those who are fitness freaks the college also have a gym facility for them. Oriental College of Education and Research offers one primary course, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. This is a two-year, full time course aimed at producing teachers with an approved enrolment of 50 students per course. The B.Ed programme therefore comprises of various units of study which seek to thrown out skilled and knowledge males and females that are well equipped to transformed education.
