Oriental School of Education, Indore was started in the year 2008 and it is a constituent college to mentor future teachers. This institution is situated at Jakhiya and on the other side of Revati Range on Sanwer Road and occupies an area of 2.4 acres of land. The college has been approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and it provides several education oriented course. On an average the institute takes total of 273 students and has faculty of 14 which provides individual attention to each student who wants to be a teacher. The Oriental School of Education offers a wide range of four courses in three levels towards degrees for specialising in the area of education.
Oriental School of Education has many functional and equipped facilities in their academic activities. A rich and fully equipped library occupies an area of 4596 square meters, contains more than 35000 printed books, 67 print periodicals, as well as the resources available online. This is a Wi-Fi enabled campus and this means that the will always be internet connection for students and members of staff. As for the accommodation, there are hostels for boys and girls in the campus, which are single, double, and triple occupied rooms. They are self-contained with security services whenever you need around the clock and come with CCTV and Warden support. The college also has a medical centre manned by a medical doctor and qualified nurse to cater for student health needs. Other facilities include a gymnasium, canteen and mess to ensure that the students get a humanity,one stop centre civilisation.
The Oriental School of Education has a total of four courses which comprise of full and part time programmes. The institute offers two regular programmes of B.ED, one regular programmes of part time B.ED and one regular programme of M.ED. Otherwise, the total approved intake throughout all of the offered courses is 450 students. The B.Ed and B.Ed Part-Time category have 150 seats each, another combined course BA B.Ed has 100 seats and M.Ed course has limited seat of 50. Such diverse products serve different educational requirements and career goals in the field of teaching profession.
This school for learning admits the student on the basis of scores of marks in qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests. Admission policy in the institute is in line with the policies provided in the state government, UT administration and the university. For the B.Ed programmes and the integrated BA B.Ed course programmes, the admission is granted strictly on merit of the candidate along with the performance in qualifying examination/ any entrance tests / any other mode as per the government and university norms. Likewise, for getting admission in M.Ed courses, the applicant’s mark in the qualifying examination, entrance test or such other criteria as may be prescribed by the admitting authority are taken into consideration.
