OSME-Orissa School of Mining Engineering is a premier technical institute which was set up in 1956 at Keonjhar, Orissa. This affiliated college provides different diploma engineering disciplines approved by All India Council for Technical Education AICTE. OSME is situated in a 44-acre compound from which it draws its total student enrolment of 593 and a total faculty strength of 18 members. offered six diploma courses in diverse engineering branches to meet rising needs of aspiring professionals in mining and associated sectors.

At Orissa School of Mining Engineering, the institution parades several facilities that are aimed at improving learner’s experiences. There are also separate hostels for boys and girls for out station students to ensure they have a comfortable place to stay. A central library with adequate facilities including books, journals and digital content is useful, providing information to user. The college’s IT facilities cater for contemporary learning approaches and the cafeteria designed for break time. Modern laboratories are provided for every department to meet the departments requirements because practical skills are required. OSME has facilities in regard to the health of staff and students and recreation through provisions of a large playground for football and cricket and for badminton and volleyball courts. The institute currently have total of six full-time diploma courses and all the courses take three years to complete. The courses offered by the college are Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Drilling Engineering. The total proposed admission which has been approved for all courses is 240 students per year.
