Our Lady College of Education, Maduravoyal is one of the eminent institutions founded in the year 2004 that has taken prime responsibility to build a future of tomorrow’s education. This is a co educational college situated at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.The college is an affiliated college certified by National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE). With a focus on providing quality teacher education, the college offers two specialized programs: They include; Bachelor of Education popularly known as B. Ed and Master of Education well known as M. Ed. The student enrolment of the institute is 145 and the institute has a faculty strength of 15 dedicated and experienced teachers for the students preparing to be teachers.

The college has several installment facilities in place to facilitate the learning of the students in the college campus. More than 6,750 books which act as the coloured-nucleus of academic resources include references, Indian and foreign journals and magazines. Students also find photocopying convenience and use of computers with internet connection particularly useful in their research and study. The unique feature is a psychology laboratory where students can practice various experiments necessary for contemporary society needs research. In the area popular activities for students concerning extracurricular activities and events are facilitated through an availability of an auditorium, sports, and gym facilities.

Our Lady College of Education offers two full-time courses: It offers the B.Ed programme with 100 seats and the M.Ed programme with 50 seats cumulatively amounting to 150 seats for the two programmes. These courses are aimed at helping students achieve successful educational careers; the courses include both the theoretical and the practical. B.Ed programme takes two years during which the students is grounded in basic ideas of teaching and the M.Ed programme which also takes two years compounds advanced ideals of education and research methods. These two programs seek to offer competent, caring, creative and holistic educators who are fit to transform the face of Education within the shortest time possible.

The admission process in Our Lady College of Education is purposely undertaken to ensure that the College selects the most deserving candidates into its programmes. For the B.Ed course, candidates who have applied are called for an interview and the course is offered based on merit. The college values time and does not like candidates to change the date or time of the interview. It should be noted that all the vacancies are considered tentative and the final decisions are made by an affiliated university. Candidates for admission to the M.Ed course are selected based on the merit and number of marks obtained in both the qualifying and/or entrance tests in accordance with rules and regulation framed by the state government and the university. Aspiring learners should also understand that the admission process is based on the confirmation received from the university regarding mark certificates and thus valid.
