Palak Dhari Singh Mahila Mahavidyalaya is an affiliated college which was founded in 2008 inItaora, Chandeshwar, Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. This women’s institution is committed with the vision of offering good education to female students in the region. Recognised by National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE), the college provides undergraduate programmes with an affiliated student strength of 380 students.

Palak Dhari Singh Mahila Mahavidyalaya’s amenities are geared towards improving out the overall beneficiary learning environment for the college students. The college also offers great opportunities for learners with special interests in sports since sports facilities are offered to all learners. It is function of knowledge centre providing all essentials to facilitate academic activities. In order to reinforce practical competency, the college retains departmental laboratories through which real training is carried out in various fields. In addition, the institution has developed a good IT platform hence preparing students for the next generation. 

There are three full time courses offered in Palak Dhari Singh Mahila Mahavidyalaya to meet The educational needs of the students. The offered Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme offers Humanities as a fundamental learning area. The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) programmes facilitate preparation of students for teaching. The B.Ed and D.El.Ed programmes have an intake capacity of one hundred students each which are aligned to the teacher education programmes of the college.

Admission requirements at Palak Dhari Singh Mahila Mahavidyalaya differ by course of study that a student seeks to enrol in. As for the B.Ed programme, the merit rules are applied, using the marks obtained in the qualifying or the entry test. The selection follows norms laid by state government, U.T. Administration and the university as formulated and approved. Likewise, for admission to the D.El.Ed. programme, the subsequent criteria of merit based admission system is considered in terms of the qualifying examination as per the norms of the state government.
