Palakkad Institute of Science and Technology or PIST is one of the most renowned institute in Palakkad, Kerala that aims at providing quality education in the field of engineering. Located in the town of Muthalamada, PIST creates ideal learning atmosphere as well as all the necessary conditions for successful learning and self-development. 

To aid and improve the learning process with the students, numerous specialfacilities are available at PIST. The institute is also equipped well with a library system as the Information Centre for the students and the faculty. As to meet the needs of its students, PIST offers a girls’ hostel for the accommodation of female students. The campus has functional I.T modern facilities that improve the learning and research activities on the campus. On leisure and to socialise, the students can use the college cafeteria which is a central point for all students.

The institute provides a limited list of four full-time B.Tech programmes out of which all take four years. These programmes include Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.. Every course has an approved student capacity of 60 students, increasing the number of students offered a place on a course across all the courses to 240.

The seats in Palakkad Institute of Science and Technology was filled through the CAP. This has made the selection process to seem fair and warranted since they select students for the four B.Tech programmes.
