Captain Cheelashaw Dhohn Bed Ram Nalwa Param Veer Chakra Naib Subedar Sanjay Kumar Government Polytechnic Kalol was established in the year 2013, affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Delhi situated in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. This poly technical college, which is approved by AICTE offers diploma programs that includes engineering disciplines. Thus, the polytechnic has a total student enrolment of 159 and faculty of 14 members which is a well suited teaching-learning environment. Two full time diploma courses are taught at the institute for the duration of three years specialising in Electrical and Mechanical engineering.

The polytechnic has put in place several facilities that aim at improving the learning environment of its learners. The library system is considered an important part of the academic literature and is stocked with 1,583 books as of 249 titles, further 6 journals and 2 dailies- English & Hindi. In regard to practical usage of language skills the institute has well equipped labs such as Language Lab installed with spears language lab Pro for 20 users fully equipped with color printer and projector. The physical facilities include advanced IT infrastructure, and even an IT Lab fitted with 30PCs of which are fitted with MS office skills to enable the students to learn basic computer skills during their studies. To support continuous connectivity there is a lease line and broadband connection of 16 Mbps each in the campus. Also, there is provision of sports at the polytechnic so as to allow the young individuals a balance between books and games.

Param Veer Chakra Naib Subedar Sanjay Kumar Government Polytechnic, Kalol, currently offers two diploma programmes: Diploma Electrical Engineering and Diploma Mechanical Engineering is what has been obtained. Both courses are three-year full time programmes. The total students intake for each programme having been approved is 60 and therefore the total number of seats is 120. These type of courses are intended to equip the students with sufficient background knowledge in relevant areas to enable them practice in the technical industry or pursue higher education in engineering.

The new admissions in Param Veer Chakra Naib Subedar Sanjay Kumar Government Polytechnic are conducted according to results scored in the Himachal Pradesh Polytechnic Admission Test (HP PAT). This entrance examination takes place every year in May and is organized by Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board, Dharamshala. The admission for B.Tech is conducted through Directorate of Technical Education, Himachal Pradesh through online counseling and the admission to the courses are based on the merit in the HP PAT.

In the case of lateral entry to the second year of diploma courses, only online admission is permissible based on the candidates LEET merit or 10+2 science results after exhausting all the LEET merit list. REET also incorporates the following qualifications as a criteria for admission into LEET ITI-pass in two years ITI course in an engineering trade OR 10+2 vocational/science passed from a recognised Government recognised school.
