Patriarch Ignatius Zakka-Ist Training College is an affiliated college of the University of Kerala located in Ernakulam, Kerala, and was established in the year 1996. This institution is NCTE-approved and offers many undergraduate programmes and B.Ed. At present, it accommodates college in its compact 3-acre campus having a total strength of 94 students and supported by 10 faculty members. The college offers seven courses in three degree programmes and caters to the wide interests of students in the fields of education, arts, and sciences. 

There are numerous facilities provided for the learning enhancement of students in this college. Amongst these is a library, well-equipped with facilities that can seat over 50 students at the same time. This knowledge centre boasts of an impressive 5,329 books, 4 educational journals, and 12 encyclopedias. Other than this, the libraries provide access to many e-journals and subscriptions to publications from other institutions, thereby enhancing the richness of the academic environment. Patriarch Ignatius Zakka-Ist Training College also sustains its modern IT infrastructure wherein students can access the current technological resources. 

To achieve better practical learning, departmental laboratories are provided to students where theory can be practiced in the practical field. Sports facilities in the campus ensure that students get themselves involved in physical fitness and team spirit. The auditorium is used for events and seminars which helps in promoting intellectual discourse and cultural activities. The college offers guest rooms for visiting faculty and family members as well. Patriarch Ignatius Zakka-Ist Training College offers seven full-time courses which include undergraduate and post-graduate programmes. Among these B.Sc programmes cover Mathematics with 6 seats, Natural Science with 8 seats, and 12 seats are available for Physical Science. Admissions in Patriarch Ignatius Zakka-Ist Training College vary from programme to programme. For the B.Ed programme, its admissions are made on the basis of merit.
