PGP College of Arts and Science for women was started in the year 1994 at Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, India. Affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University with NAAC accreditation, the accreditations with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) confirms the qualification of the college. With a total land area of about 14.68 acres, PGP College provides seventy-seven split into twelve programmes and sixty-seven specialisations. The student enrolment of the institute is 1426 and the faculty members are 113; thus the ratio between them is 5:1. The college has many students at Admission college level 70% undergraduate and 30% postgraduate students.

In case of admissions to undergraduate programmes, student are selected on the basis of their results in the qualifying examination – 10+2 or equivalent.
