Poornaprajna College, Udupi: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The Poornaprajna College, Udupi was set up in the year 1960 and is one of the most well known institutions situated at Udupi, Karnataka. This affiliated college, accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) provides many programs such as undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Located on a sprawling 6.49 acre area the college has an intake of 1550 students and a faculty of 71 teachers. The institution provides 6 degrees programs as follows; Arts, Science, Commerce and Management courses being the most demanded. Currently, the male student enrolment stands at 35%, while females only stands at 65%, which make up the entire strength of the Poornaprajna College.

The college boasts of effective and efficient facility which enhances the general flow of learning. The most fundamental and integral academic assets of the institution include the large, well equipped two-storied library equipped with more than 45000 books in relations to the current editions available in different specialties. Students can read over a hundred newspapers and magazines, with book-borrowing services for qualifiably needy students. 

The college also has adequately stocked laboratory facilities in physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, and computer science Departments have fully equipped research laboratories. For health conscious or sports lovers, there is an indoor stadium maintained with adequate and good facilities, a multi-gym equipped with modern facilities. The college provides accommodation to its away from home students in separate hostels for boys and girls. Some of the other facilities include a canteen which serves neat and clean food at pocket charges, Mini auditorium, Large seminar hall, Wi-Fi facility and spacious car parking.

There are only 6 courses offered out of which all the courses are full time programmes and are offered in Poornaprajna College. These include four under graduate programmes (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science B.Com, and B.Business Administration) and two post graduate programmes (Master of Commerce and Master of Science in Mathematics). 

It has a total student intake of 720 for its all courses where the maximum number of students is given to B.Com equals 250. As of the information from 2022, college student population which is 1.520, with 1,404 students offered undergraduate programs while 116 students in postgraduate programs. This shows that there is a high population interest on the courses offered by the college and to offer quality education.
