Pravara Rural College of Education, Loni was found in 1990 at Ahmednagar, Maharashtra as an own funding institution. This is a co-educational institution recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) that offers teacher training course only. The college which is established on 5 Acres of area provides education and teaching through 3 degrees which comprise of 4 courses. The college has the capacity of 100 students at a time and 10 faculty members, which has laid a right platform for the persons who interested in becoming the teacher. Programs offered by the institute bear testimony of it as it has programmes like B.Ed, M.Ed, D.El.Ed and DSM in the field of teacher education.

There are four regular full time courses offered in Pravara Rural College of Education for different levels of teachers education. The institute offers programmes with a total student capacity of 260 in all streams of its courses. The B.ED program is a two years full time course The intake capacity of the college for B.ED class is fifty seats. The two years M.Ed programme has 50 seats for post graduation and aims at providing quality education to educationist. The D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) is a two years course for which the maximum intake is 100 students. Finally, the one year program namely the DSM stands for Diploma in School Management has 60 seats. Such courses are intended for a student to join the teaching profession or any other profession within the education fraternity or take up administrative position in a school.
The admission procedure at Pravara Rural College of Education therefore differs from program to program. For the B.Ed program, admission is done on merit that is Marks obtained in the qualifying examination and or Entrance Test as per rules and regulations of State Government of Maharashtra and Pravesh Niyantran Samiti, Mumbai. As per the guidelines set in the last session, the M batch in M.Ed program does accordingly where the weightage of the entrance examination…. …in overall 50-50 basis with the eligibility degree marks. As stated in Savitribai Phule Pune University Ordinance ‘O 181’ the admission for this programme is conducted. The D.El.Ed program is also merit based simultaneously recognising marks from the qualifying examination or entrance test as per state government norms. There is no specific scholarship information for the college but the college must have a number of scholarships programs for deserving students. Another evidence towards education is the fact that the institute is producing many education professionals, who have overtime pursued teaching and education administration.
