Prince Shri Venkateshwara Arts and Science College (PSVASC) Chennai was started in the year 1995 with affiliation to tamilnadu. Located in a 5.2-acre land, the institution provides student with a wide a selection of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. PSVASC is a growing institution with 11 members of faculty, offering 16 courses in 7 programmes of study. In the gender distribution, the college is Male : Female – 47:53 in the undergraduate and 48:52 in postgraduate level. The commitment by this institution towards offering quality education comes out clearly from the SCVIS acceptance of the institution to offer a number of courses that cuts across different disciplines such as commerce, computer science, life science, management among others.
Prince Shri Venkateshwara Arts and Science College has put in place modern facilities which can facilitate better learning among college students. It plays the role of information centre as a result of offering multiple academic sources to reckon with. Science and computer science laboratories are well equipped to meet the practical side of the students to work practically on projects. It plays home to numerous affairs including seminars aimed at avocation of carnal and other activities. ,to ensure that may ease students banking needs, an ATM machine is selected to be placed within the school compound and for the convenience of students there is a cafeteria on campus. PSVASC also has great IT facilities as the technology required for modern learning. There are many features that promote physical fitness as well as team work in the compound; inter-zone competitions in handball and volleyball. The college continues to have a close relation with its alumni through an active alumni association that provide opportunities for internships and jobs to the college students.
Prince Shri Venkateshwara Arts and Science College has a total of 16 courses, which include both a bachelor’s and master’s degree. It offers 11 undergraduate full-time programmes and five full-time postgraduate programmes. Since information on part-time, on-line or certification programmes is lacking, it is currently concentrated on more traditional regular, full-time education. The total student enrolment capacity is 2,539 but adjusted for each college, and each course so as to ensure that the number of students in a class is makes learning effective.
