Priyadarshini Institute of Technology and Science for Women, Tenali was established in the year 2008 and is an affiliated college. This all-women institution is approved by All India Council for Technical Education and provides various engineering programmes. It occupies an area of 5.95 acres with a total enrolment of 490 students in various courses. Priyadarshini Institute of Technology and Science for Women offers 7 courses in 2 degree levels. These include full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering. The B.Tech programmes are four-year programmes, while the M.Tech ones are two-year courses. The approved total intake of seats for undergraduate programmes at the institute is 210, where B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering admits 120 students and B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering takes up 60 students. For postgraduate studies, the M.Tech programme in Computer Science and Engineering offers 30 seats. The admission procedure to courses in PITW is mainly based on entrance examinations. Undergraduate programmes: 70% of the seats are sanctioned on the basis of merit in the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The remaining 30% seats are reserved for management quota and NRI candidates. Likewise, in the case of postgraduate programmes, 70% of the seats are reserved on the basis of performance in Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP PGECET), and the rest 30% come under the management and NRI quota. The scores at the entrance exams hence become the reason for admission into the institute; therefore, admission procedures are pretty fair and competitive.
