PT Jawahar Lal Nehru Mahavidyala, Nawagarh, was established in the year 2001 and is an affiliated college. The institution is co-educational and has a diversified approach to courses, offering 12 courses in 7 degrees. The campus is compact, spread across 0.88 acres, with a total student enrolment of 633 and a faculty strength of 12. The institute offers a combination of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in arts and computer applications, sciences, which depicts its full concern on complete education. 

PT Jawahar Lal Nehru Mahavidyala enjoys various infrastructural facilities that go in coherence with its purpose of providing a better learning environment for its students. Among these, a well-stocked library holds about 2,178 books of different topics like arts, commerce, science, law and general knowledge. Technologically, the library has a Master Soft TRP system to allow for proper cataloging and arrangement, with 50 student seating capacity. The prominent courses are BA, with 170 seats; B.Sc Bio-Group, with 145; and B.Sc Maths, with 70 seats. The college also offers many professional courses, including BCA, PGDCA, MSc in Botany, Chemistry, and Zoology.
