The PTPS College, Patratu started in 1972 currently is an affiliated college which is situated at Ramgarh in the state of Jharkhand. This institution that occupies a vast piece of land a little over 20 acres has been moulding the future generation of leaders for over fifty years. The college is an NAAC accredited college, which means that it is dedicated to delivering quality education to all its students. The university is a large university having a total enrolment of 1,741 students and has 28 members in the faculty.

The physical facilities of PTPS College include a variety of facilities that are intended to complement learning. The library of the college is scientific where Students and faculty use the different sections for reading and studying in different section There is reading room for students as well as the faculty members. Students are allowed to borrow books for fifteen days but these books may be renewable. The institution also has well equipped departmental laboratories which facilitate practical lessons. An auditorium is used for occasions, conferences and seminars and is a setting for stimulating debate.

On a broader perspective there is a full –fledgedacademic spectrum existing in PTPS College. It’s composed of 4 faculties and delivers 14 full-time courses, mostly at the undergraduate level. These are bachelor of Arts (BA) program with specializations such as Hindi, Philosophy, Political Science, Ancient Indian History, Modern Indian History, Economics, Home Science, Psychology and Sanskrit. In the science stream, college provide the B.Sc degree programs as well as Discipline-Wise Specialised Course in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, and Zoology.
