Affiliated, Punjab College of Law, Tarn Taran is a college in Tarn Taran, Punjab which was founded in 2016. Located in a 5-acre area, this college and school is recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI). There are two main integrated programmes in the college which admit 120 students in total. At present, the college is comprising of 85 students and 9 faculty members of the college. Punjab College of Law focuses on providing quality legal education through its two specialized courses: BA LLB and B.Com LLB are two of our courses which are integrated five-year courses.
Punjab College of Law has numerous facilities to meet students’ academic needs and other extra curricular activities. The campus also has a library stocked with more than 15, 00,000 books including references on legal glossary by eminent legal personalities. For practical training, there exists a fairly and beautiful moot courtroom. The college offers a separate hostel for girls to accommodate them with neat and clean and spacious and ventilated rooms with all the required facilities. Sport lovers can have the basketball court, volleyball, badminton court, as well as a 200 meters track. This campus is equipped with Wi-Fi so that they can search for the judgments of the latest High Court and Supreme Court. Some of the other facilities are Multipurpose hall having seating capacity of 400 seats, provision of canteen for fresh food and transport from other places like Amritsar, Patti and Goindwal Sahib.
Punjab College of Law offers two full-time integrated law programmes: BA LLB and B.Com LLB. Both courses take five years to complete and have an intake capacity of 60 students making the total number of available seats 120. These programmes are aimed at offering the students with all rounded education with an option to do law with arts or commerce. Due to the mentioned two specialised courses, the college can give more relevant and stringent orientations towards the legal education with a number of students who wish to blend law with humanities or business.
Punjab College of Law admits students to its integrated law programmes and the admission must therefore certify proper spirited students. Although, the details of the admission procedure are not spelt out, it is a tradition for most law colleges to incorporate academic performance for classes 10+2 or equivalent examination in their admission criteria. However, some law colleges do consider the scores of the other national level law entrance tests, nevertheless, this requirement is not mentioned on the official website of Punjab College of Law.
