Purna Chandra Institute of Engineering and Technology, Angul: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Purna Chandra Institute of Engineering and Technology Angul Odisha was started in the year 2009 by Purna Chandra Education Trust. This affiliated college approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Lieak District in Punjab offers the diploma programs in the various engineering disciplines. The PCIET is located in a 6.19 Acres campus and total intake capacity of 1,431 and total faculty members are 59. Four diploma courses are offered at the institute and each of these is a specialization in engineering. For this reason, PCIET, as a technical University, seeks to produce competent professionals in different fields of engineering.

A fully functional library is home to over 11,000 books and 1,812 titles, 13 journals help students to enhance their academic abilities. Through specialty departments’ laboratories, the institute provides opportunities for practical sessions. Learning activities operate under a wireless mode; students are privileged to access free internet services throughout the campuses. Football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, cricket courts etc, are offered for different extracurricular activities of PCIET. The facilities also available are a gymnasium for physical activities, a eating place, that is, a cafeteria and an auditorium for events and seminars. Moreover, the institute avails four buses for from the residences of the students and staff to the institute.

The institute provides four full length diploma courses out of which all are having a period of three years of duration. These are Diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mining Engineering. The total approved intake of these courses is 420prising of 60 for civil engineering and 120 each of the other three programs. All the courses are offered in full-time only so as to equip the students with the necessary theoretical as well as practical knowledge in their areas of specialization.

PCIET follows the online counseling developed by the Diploma Admission Cell of Government of Odisha under the chairman ship of the Director of Technical Education and Training (DTE &T), Odisha, Cuttack. This way of admission procedure is likely to reduce cases of bias through centralizing the process and at the same time makes the whole process quite fair and transparent.
