Purna Chandra Institute of Engineering and Technology (PCIET), Angul, is one of the approved colleges affiliated under All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Admission in this institute is purely centralized and online by the Diploma Admission Cell, Government of Odisha, which is under the presidency of the Director of Technical Education and Training (DTE & T), Odisha, Cuttack.

The centralized method ensures a fair and transparent admission process. Usually, the admission cycle runs parallel with that of the state's diploma admission process. Candidates are mandated to participate in the online counseling process developed by the Diploma Admission Cell. This procedure helps ensure that they are free from bias and equitably give chances to each applicant's admission.

Application Process

The procedure of applications to PCIET includes the following stages:

1. Registration by candidates for online admission counseling by the Diploma Admission Cell, Government of Odisha.

2. Accurate filling in of the online application form with personal and academic particulars.

3. Uploads of required documents as indicated by the Diploma Admission Cell.

4. Payment of an application fee adduced by the admission authority.

5. Select PCIET and the preferred course during the counseling process.

6. In case of seat allotment, visit PCIET for verification of documents as well as admission processing.

7. Complete the admission process by paying the required dues and depositing original documents

Degree wise Admission Process

PCIET has established four full-time courses in engineering diplomas, every diploma course extending over 3 years.

Diploma in Electrical Engineering: Approved intake for the program is 120 seats. The admission of students into this program is done through a centralized online counseling process being managed by the Diploma Admission Cell, Government of Odisha.

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: This course has an approved intake of 120 seats and follows the same procedure of admission as the Electrical Engineering program.

Diploma in Mining Engineering: This particular program has an approved seat of 120, and therefore, admission is done through a similar centralized admission process as that done by the state government.

Diploma in Civil Engineering: With an approved intake of 60 seats, admission to this program is through the same online counseling system as that of other diploma programs.

Generally, the following documents will be required:

• Mark sheet and certificate of the 10th standard.
• Permanent residency certificate (if applicable).
• Caste certificate (if applicable).
• Recent passport-size photographs.
• Any other documents as required as per the Diploma Admission Cell.
