Purnea College of Engineering is a pretty young institution, founded in the year 2017. This co-educational institute is an affiliated college located in Purnea, Bihar, and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. PCE Purnea provides varied engineering programs with a total of 6 courses under 1 degree. This college has a student enrolment of 736 and a faculty strength of 8. Presently, PCE Purnea offers six full-time B.Tech programs. These are Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence. The total sanctioned intake for all these programs is 300 seats, wherein the first four programs command an intake of 60 each, while the Computer Science and Engineering and Artificial Intelligence command 30 each. This very wide range of specializations available in one roof gives the option for the students to choose fields of their interest and inclination.

The admission process in PCE Purnea is mainly based on the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination. This state-level entrance examination is conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board, that gives entry into the aspiring students against the B.Tech programs offered by the college. BCECE being a comprehensive test, evaluates aptitude in subjects relevant to engineering studies among candidates.
