PVDT College of Education for Women, Churchgate, is one of the outstanding constituent colleges that have been set up since 1959 in the very heart of the flourishing city of Mumbai. It has always been affiliated with SNDT Women's University and a women's only college since its inception, in the last six decades, strived for the development of educational futures. In the planned learning environment and under the stewardship of quality educators is housed on the compact campus of 0.4 acres aspiring students who are involved in teacher education. This institution offers place to 184 students on its rolls and 12 faculty members, thereby providing each with proper individual attention and quality education. PVDT College is NCTE-approved. The recognition received by it indicates that here the society committed itself to pursue excellence in teacher training programmes. 

PVDT College of Education for Women is well-equipped with an array of facilities meant to enhance a better learning experience and overall development of the students. The knowledge hub of this institution is a very well-equipped library, and very physical and practical learning opportunities are given by departmental laboratories. Various events and seminars are held in the auditorium of the college, and hence this also accounts for a vibrant academic atmosphere. There is also a cafeteria, gym, and sports facilities to encourage the healthy lifestyle of students to support them. A girls' hostel of over 500 students housed in a four-story building with mess facilities also exists within the boundary of the college. Other facilities include IT infrastructure, a health centre with first aid facilities, stationery/photocopying in-house convenience stores, and even banks/ATMs on campus. 

PVDT College of Education for Women provides two B.Ed programmes. The institution conducts B.Ed courses in both Marathi and Gujarati to balance up with the linguistic population of the region. Both courses have an approved intake of 80 seats each, and taken together, they total up to 160 seats across two courses.  This focused approach allows the college to specialise in education for potential teachers and still manage the students without overloading the college with a large number of students to ensure that the quality of the education and individual attention are given to each aspiring educator. The admissions at PVDT College of Education for women are strictly on merit. The number of seats in each course is calculated on the basis of marks obtained by applicants in the qualifying examination, including entrance examinations as applicable. This way, there is a just and transparent selection procedure for all applicants. The university has its admission policy, under which it consults the UT administration and state government.
