PVS Education and Rural Development Society, Chitradurga was established in the year 2004 and it is affiliation college in the Chitradurga of the Karnataka State of India. It is a co-educational institute located in a 5 acre area and aim at offering quality education in teaching. Approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the college offers two full-time courses: Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El Ed.) and Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.). The total intake of students in this institution is 193 while the staffing level of the faculty 21 this makes the student – Faculty ratio very healthy good for effective learning.

PVS Education and Rural Development Society has a variety of services to contribute to students’ improvement within the educational process. The university offers the students’ accommoda­tion in respectively, hostel for boys and girls, – comfortable. The campus also has a library with all the books students need for research and other learning purposes. The practical skills are provided at the laboratories that are located in each department, and the auditorium is used for different events and seminars. In the interest of students’ health, the college has a health centre with first aid equipment. The institution also has shades for sports since physical fitness is also encouraged through the provision of a gym facility. A cafeteria has been provided, as well as dining facilities to provide students and members of staff with well-balanced diets to enhance their performance. Internet and computer facilities are also provided to meet the student’s increased technology needs in this modern world.

PVS Education and Rural Development Society has two main courses affiliated, which take two years to complete. The B.Ed programme as well as the D.El.Ed programmes have a sanctioned strength of 50 students each. These full-time courses serve as an educational direction that enables the future teachers to face the contemporary educational environment. The teacher education emphasis enhances the production of professional teachers in the college hence the region.

In admission policy, PVS has advantage of admitting students on merit basis in session followed by the policies provided by state government as well as the university. For the B.Ed programme, the Admission Committee considers the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/entrance examination. Likewise, the D.El.Ed programme of admission scheme is merit based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test etc. This approach helps the institution open the possibility for worthy candidates given the chance to attend the institution to pursue their teaching dreams.
