Raga College of Education, Khammam: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Raga College of Education was started in year 2007 and is one of the most prominent college in Khammam, Telangana. The college is a co–educational college that is affiliated with a local university, focusing primarily on the provision of teacher education. Approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Raga College of Education offers two full-time courses, Bachelors in Education B.ED and Diploma for Teacher Education D.EL.ED. The college is housed in the centre of a 1 acre of land and has 94 students and 16 members of faculty. Being a college devoted to the training of future educators, Raga College of Education occupies a special position in the development of the educational system of the area.

Raga College of Education has vowed to make sure that the student gets the best environment to learn in. Apart from that, it has a good library that is resourceful in developing proficient trainers to the teaching fraternity. in addition, to strengthen laboratory work, the institution provides Departmental laboratories where students are allowed to use practical knowledge in laboratory conditions. Being an institution that understands the relevance of technology in the education, Ragah College of Education has provided accredited IT facilities to prepare students as effective trainers in the use of updated instruction–Delivery tools. It also improves the college’s position of health needle competition between academics and physical exercises by providing sports amenities. Also, there is a health centre on this campus and first aid facilities are available to assure students and the staff of the institution enjoy good health.

Raga College of Education has two courses. The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme is a two-year full –time programme for 100 students and is aimed at preparing the graduates for teaching in secondary schools. The second course is the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) with a total intake of 50 students, is also a full time two-year programme to train teachers for primary Teacher Education. Both courses are designed to offer the content knowledge base and teaching practice so that graduands avail themselves well to their future professions as teachers. The total enrolment of students in the two programmes is one hundred and fifty in order to assure quality education delivery, the college offers admission to students per programme in a controlled class size.

The admission process at Raga College of Education is fairly structured based on merit and the of the process is made sure by the college. While admitting the students to the B.Ed course, the candidates will be competing on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination /entrance examination and in case of D.El.Ed also the admission is done on the marks secured in the entrance examination. Admission policy of principal college and that of the State Government of Telangana plus the affiliated university shall be implemented. After fulfilling the need for skilled teachers in Khammam and other places, Raga College of Education has played an important role to provide education to the students in the region.
