Rahmans College of Education, Jangaon, was set up in 2004 is an affiliated college located in Yeshwanthapur Village, Jangaon Dist., Telangana State. This co-educational institution is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for maintaining the quality standards in the teacher education. Situated in a 5.1 acre campus, the college is providing two course in education that is B.Ed with a total intake capacity of 75 students and B.PEd with a total intake capacity of 75 students. At present, the institute comes with 24 members of faculty strength to assure optimal student faculty ratio is achieved. Rahmans College of Education is primarily devoted to build future educators through its selective course offers in B.Ed and D.El.Ed.
Rahmans College of Education has a range of services that can be used by the students to improve their studies and other affairs. A library, one of the major facilities of the learning institution, is well stocked with over four thousand books and a large reading room. It has advice and information education journal and other reference materials to encourage reading and research. As a result of the IT structure that has been established here, students are taught basic computer skills and acquaint themselves with educational technologies in order to help them understand modern teaching techniques. The college also has well equipped laboratory such as science laboratory, psychology laboratory, and mathematics laboratory to improve practical experiences. An auditorium is used to host events and seminars and other sporting facilities foster the spirit of exercise as well as team work among students.
Rahmans College of Education offers two full-time courses in B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) and D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education). The B.Ed programme has a proposed intake of 100 regular seats and self financed 50 seats and D.El.Ed programme have proposed the same is 50 regular seats for whom in self financed admission any number of seats are allowed. It will take two years to complete either course and prepares students for educational theories and practices. These specialised programmes, based in the college, show that the college is committed in producing qualified and competent educators for the primary and secondary education sectors.
The admission standards of Rahmans College of Education are inline with the standard set by the state for colleges of teacher education. For the B.Ed course, the candidates should qualify in theTS EdCET (Education Common Entrance Test) conducted by Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE). The B.Ed programme admission requires on passing through this entrance exam. For the course of D.El.Ed, the admission standard involved is the merit of marks obtained in the qualifying examination /entrance examination, as per the policies of the state government.
