One of the premier technical institutions, Raja Ranjit Kishore Government Polytechnic, was established in the year 2014 at Paschim Medinipur of West Bengal. This is a co-educational institution with a campus of 9 acres and an affiliated college approved by AICTE. The polytechnic offers three diploma courses, catering to a total student enrolment of 422. Spread over 14 in faculty strength, this institute maintains a very favourable student-to-teacher ratio of 30:1, hence bringing about personalized attention and quality education.

Raja Ranjit Kishore Government Polytechnic offers three full-time diploma courses, each for three years: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electrical Engineering, and Diploma in Computer Science and Technology. Each course has an approved enrolment of 60 students, adding up to 180 seats for the program as a whole.

Admissions to Raja Ranjit Kishore Government Polytechnic are done through a fair and transparent system. The test-oriented objectives field called JEXPO conducts a Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics West Bengal for admission to the Diploma Course in Computer Science and Technology in this institution, selecting meritorious students.
