Rajarshi Shahu Arts and Commerce College, Kolhapur was started in the year 1992 and is like a lighthouse in the firms imparting higher education within Maharashtra. The location of this affiliated college is at Rukadi, Taluka-Hatkanangle, sprawled over a compact 0.5-acre campus, which provides a focused learning environment. The institution has earned accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council; this indeed speaks about the seriousness of the institution toward quality education. With the present enrolment of 562 students, and the faculty strength of 13, the college has still managed to preserve much of its intimate atmosphere for academics. The institution offers 7 courses in 3 degree programs oriented towards arts and commerce disciplines that meet diversified educational aspirations. 

The institution has various amenities to enrich the learning experience of its students. The library on the first floor has a sufficient amount of stock in the form of books, journals, and dailies, backed by internet-enabled computers and SOUL 2.0 library management software. There is also a gymkhana equipped with indoor game facilities like carom and chess, along with fields for outdoor games. Evidence of this commitment to technology is in its computer centre running the courses like MSCIT and Tally, with 13 computers having different sets of software configurations. A language laboratory allowing 10 students at a time further enriches the learning resources. 

Rajarshi Shahu Arts and Commerce College offers varied courses on a full-time basis to its students: BA, B.Com, MA Economics. The sanctioned intakes for the BA and B.Com. courses are 360 each, while for the MA Economics course, it is 100 students. Other than the general courses of BA, the special BA courses the college offers are in Marathi, English, Economics, and History. These diverse courses provide an opportunity for students to engage in their fields of interest pursued in arts and commerce.

The admission procedure in Rajarshi Shahu Arts and Commerce College has been made as simple and convenient as possible for the students. Its inclusive strategy is reflected in its multifarious course structures that accommodate diverse academic interests in the fields of arts and commerce. The ladies' hostel for female students is another provision of the college, with 8 rooms accommodating 24 students, having a kitchen, dining hall, toilets, bathrooms, and a warden's residence. Contributing to the overall campus experience is an auditorium for events and seminars, a canteen by the Trust just adjacent to the campus, and a guest room for visiting faculty and family members.
