Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy and Research, Pune: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy and Research, Pune, Maharashtra was established in 2006. It is a Co-Educational college affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University and imparts Professional programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences. The institution has been accredited by NAAC and approved by PCI, New Delhi. This campus of 0.75 acres has an intake of 345 students with a fairly balanced sex ratio of 45% males and 55% females. The faculty has 21 dedicated faculties; the institution imparts 3 courses at 2 different degree levels, all specialising in different areas of pharmacy.

RSCPR has the following facilities to support the learning environment for its students. The colleges have well-equipped laboratories—12 at the under-graduate level and 4 at the postgraduate level—all of which have statutory requirements and meet safety standards. The knowledge hub includes a comprehensive library with a vast collection of books, journals, and periodicals complemented by a central library facility working 24/7. These are separate hostels for boys and girls, well secured with attached bathrooms and an atmosphere congenial for studying. It has a fully-equipped gymnasium and spacious grounds for sports activities.

The institution offers a focused selection of pharmacy programs viz. one undergraduate and two postgraduate courses. Bachelor of Pharmacy, a four-year full-time course, and at the postgraduate level, RSCPR offers a two-year full-time M.Pharma program in Pharmaceutics  and another one in Quality Assurance. These programs are especially designed for students who seek advanced knowledge and are research-oriented in the field of pharmaceuticals. 

The admission process at RSCPR aims to short-list some of the most promising students for its programs in the Pharmaceutical Sciences. For the B.Pharma course, are based in general on academic performance at the 10+2 level in subjects relevant to the course. A candidate will have to qualify in the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT)—a national-level entrance examination for pharmacy graduates—to enter the M.Pharma programs in Pharmaceutics and Quality Assurance.
