Rajeev Institute of Ayurvedic Medical Science and Research Centre (RIAMSRC) Hassan is recognized as one of the leading Ayurvedic college in Karnataka, India which started its journey in the year 2016. Affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore this is an affiliated college situated at the Industrial Area of Hassan and is approved by the Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM). Located spread over three acres of land, the institute provides only one course – Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). The GSAS has a capacity of 60 students and 23 faculty members to ensure intensive learning to the learners willing to practice Ayurvedic systems of medicines.
Camps has various facilities in the institute which aim at improving learning of students in the institute. A large library has been designated to store variety of books on Ayurveda and other medical literature in the form of books, journals and magazines. The available laboratories are well equipped and enable a real-life experience in practical applications closing the gap from theory to practice knowledge. Accommodation is available to both male and female students living in single sex hostels featuring spacious and adequately ventilated rooms complete with study desk. Two eating joints are available on the campus With hygienically prepared South Indian, North Indian, and Chinese dishes at nominal charges for the students who want to have their meals.
Rajeev Institute of Ayurvedic Medical Science and Research Centre has only one full time course BAMS which stands for the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery. This programme takes six years for completion and give adequate knowledge about the Ayurveda to the students. This institute has been maintaining an MCI approved intake of 60 for this programme to provide proper attention and best quality education to each and every student. Though it is difficult to point out the exact graduating number of the latest year, the institute shows its dedicated methodology in Ayurvedic course due to its concentration on a single course programme.
The faculty of Rajeev Institute of Ayurvedic Medical Science and Research Centre does not have an independent mode of entrance examination to select students but the students are selected on the basis of NEET. This examination is the important route through which the aspiring students can join the institute and do BAMS course. The institute follows the NEET time table for its admission process which is uniform to the other institutes for the admission to medical stream. Although details regarding scholarships cannot be obtained, it can be assumed that the institute supports the education of Ayurveda therefore supporting students pursuing this field of medicine.
