Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College, Kangra is one of the famous and oldest College was established in 1972 in Himachal Pradesh solely dedicated to imparting the knowledge of Ayurveda. It is affiliated college which situated in Paprola, Himachal Pradesh and this is spread into 40.87 acres of land. Recognised by the Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM), the college offers 14 courses under three degree programmes to train 427 students. As of now, it has a faculty of 40 teachers dedicated to providing excellence in education in different streams of Ayurveda.

The college has state of the art facilities that can support the delivery of learning and other activities aimed at improving the lives of the students in the college. Being an important part of academic libraries, the library has a collection of over 10000 books and 20 medical journals for students and faculty to use. To support the students teaching and learning activities, the college has departmental laboratories with modern facilities. An IT structure comprises a computer centre/Internet connection, as well as 10 peripherals for students and/or teachers.

Out of the total number of courses, Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College currently has a broad course structure of 14 courses, both undergraduate and postgraduate courses are available. The BAMS programme is the largest program and encompasses a student strength of fifty and is a full time course. College also offers 13 PG courses which are MD & MS in different stream of Ayurveda and all courses takes 3years.

According to the admission policy followed at Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College major entry process is through National Level Tests. With regard to BAMS admission criteria, the NEET is the entry point for aspirants to this program. For MD and MS courses admissions are took in post graduate level through All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET). This college also uses the percentile scores in NEET PG examinations to admit students in few post graduate courses.
