Rameshwaram Institute of Education and Training, Lucknow was established in 2009. The college works under the aegis of Rameshwaram Educational Society. The college is a private college and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is an affiliated college of the Lucknow University, Lucknow. The college offers courses in the fields of Commerce and Education. RIET Lucknow courses are available at three levels: diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate. The UG programmes cover courses in B.Com and B.Ed programmes. Similarly, an M.Ed course is available at the postgraduate level. At the diploma level, the college offers a D.El.Ed programme with a course duration of two years, Candidates aspiring to be admitted to the college need to satisfy the basic eligibility criteria. 

RIET Lucknow admissions to the B.Com programme at the UG level and the M.Ed programme at the PG level are conducted on the basis of the entrance examination conducted by Lucknow University. For B.Ed and D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) programmes, admissions are done on the basis of marks in the academic exam/entrance exam or as per the prescribed norms by the university. The college provides many facilities like library facilities, lab facilities, sports facilities, auditorium facilities and many more facilities.
