Ramisht College of Education, which came into existence in 2003, is an affiliated college situated in Jammu and Kashmir. Based in Plahi, Basohli, this has been a centre of preparing the future facilitators for close to two decades. The college occupies a small plot of 2.925 acres and a balanced students to faculty ratio of 11:1 with 164 students enrol at the college. Ramisht College is developing as an Institution for Teacher Training with a faculty of 11 members that pays personal attention to each student.

Ramisht College of Education boasts of providing this or that range of privileges and amenities that make up the learning environment of learners. The campus has dedicated hot-line facilities for boys’ and girls’ hostels so that students who live far from school comfortable stay at the campus. A resourceful library acts as an information centre and the information technology complements the students, enabling them to learn modern day facilities in education. To cater for the needs of those in the physical health perspective; modern amenities such as the sports facilities are provided to encourage the healthy activities. This college also has health centre offices that contain first aid kits for the college’s main concern which is students.

The centrepiece of Ramisht College of Education’s academic programmes is its flagship programme and the Bachelor of Education (B Ed). This programme is a two-year, full- time course that must produce professional and enthusiastic teachers. The college has dedicated itself to offering this programme alone, and thus offers a more direct and intensive preparation of teachers.
