Ranchi College, Ranchi is an autonomous college for Boys, affiliated to Ranchi University, founded in 1946, situated at Morahabadi, Ranchi, Jharkhand. The college occupies two hundred acres and it has a great number of programmes on educational offer in different fields. Baccalaureate degree has been accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the Ranchi College has made its unique position in the southern state of India. Currently the institute has 97 committed and professional faculty members to take care of its students’ needs for quality education. Ranchi College presents 45 courses in 10 degree programmes and offers students a broad choice of specialties in sciences, arts, education, and computer applications.
Ranchi College offer quality services in responds to the needs of their students for better learning. Like other facilities, Ranchi College has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls for out-station student’s convenient accommodation. The institute has been established through a well equipped library containing 77991 books and 32156 titles being beneficial for the academic goals of the institute. Regarding health related issues, the university has a medical facility with an attached first aid department. The college also has modern day IT facilities for the technological requirements of the students and college. Football and cricket lovers can also make use of available playground followed by an indoor volleyball court, a badminton hall, etc. The campus has recreational facilities such as a canteen, a hall for holding events, seminars and prayers as well as ample practical laboratories.
Ranchi College has facilities for diversified academic interests to suit the various needs of interested students and professionals. It offers 45 full time courses at different levels: undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma programmes. There are courses and programmes of Bachelor of Education B.ED, B. SC in various specifications, Master of Science M. SC in subjects like chemistry, physics and environmental science and arts courses BA and MA in different stream. The college also maintains new specialisations such as PGD in Tribal Development Management B.Sc in Information Technology and and other novel programmes to meet modern education requirements.

Admission into these courses is on the basis of the merit list prepared from the 10+2 relevant subject marks. The number of students admitted in B.Sc Zoology (Hons) is 60.
M.Sc Programs
The college offers M.Sc courses in Environmental Science, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Zoology. Admission to these courses is generally on the basis of marks obtained in the respective bachelor's degree. For M.Sc Environmental Science, the intake capacity is 30 students.
B.Ed Program:
Ranchi College offers a B.Ed course with an intake strength of 100 students. B.Ed admissions may be done taking into account marks obtained in corresponding entrance examinations based on NCTE norms.
BA Courses

College Infrastructure
College is nice and infrastructure is also impressive and collectively whole college is beautiful and it's excellent. Infrastructure is modernised and laboratory and classrooms are really beautiful and new installed device.
College offers internship programs.

It has centralized AC classrooms with smart boards inserted in different rooms. It serves good canteen food and has 12 hr Wi-Fi. It has two auditorium that conducts seminar and events for entertainment and learning.
Good Institute for pursuing bachelor in English Honours.

I have studied at the affiliated college under Ranchi University, Nirmala Women's College. The Institute/ college was very good, and they have good facilities like Wi-Fi, and a library, where you can study, and well-maintained. Also, you can enjoy the nature of the campus. Sports were played like volleyball and many more like karate. The classrooms are quite spacious, and the hostels are under the campus of the college. The facilities of the college are good in Hygiene and college security.

Ranchi College which is now named as Dr.shyama Prasad Mukherjee University offers various bachelor's and masters degree courses like B.Sc, BA, B.Ed, LLM, M.Sc, MA. So, in every college there are certain number of seats that are reserved for specific category of students.So, yes it is possible that if lets suppose if there is 200 seats in BA, then college will reserve some seats for SC/ST candidates respectively and seats of ST is slightly more in numbers than SC category candidates.

Yes ofcourse you can. For all those who have done diploma course in any course of engineering there is an entry to get admission directly into the second year which is called Lateral Entry. Most of the engineering colleges allow lateral entry .while some conduct exam for it most of them take admission on cut off merits. So yes you can do graduation through the diploma course
