Rao's Institute of Management Studies, Nellore: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

RIMS – Rao’s Institute of Management Studies was started in 2003 and is an autonomous institution situated at Chemudugunta, Venkatachalam, Andhra Pradesh. RIMS is located with Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati and is a Management and Business Administration institute. It has its campus covered in a land area of 2.5 acres, and it is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Based on the total number of students, which is 307, and Total number of faculty, which is 21, RIMS provides co-educational facility. The institute offers only MBA now, but two areas of specialization and additional value-addedd are there to make the students more marketable. 

RIMS has a number of new amenities in order to cater to the academic need of the university. It comprises smart classroom teaching tools to enhance effective flow of knowledge as a teaching tool. Advanced laboratories give students an opportunity to expose their selves in their area of specialization. There is adequate storage and display of novels, journals and online resources, it’s environment is conducive for learning and research. Accommodation is available for students needing it and; RIMS has well-furnished hostel for both male and female students with facilities such as solar power water heater and wireless internet among others. The campus also provides accommodation for a cafeteria that serves healthy foods for the campus clients with various dietary preferences. An auditorium is designed for holding numerous academic and cultural activities so that it contributes to the development of the students’ campus life. Any sports lovers can benefit from the institute’s provided sports amenities such as volleyball, basketball, badminton, football, and cricket. 

Approved intake of Rao’s Institute of Management Studies full time MBA program for the current academic year is 180. The course structure is such that a two-year program helps the students to develop a strong foundation in business management. The courses offered are productive and are revised periodically to meet and suit the job market demand of the graduates. Other than MBA, RIMS also provides value added courses and entrepreneurship programme as a value addition to its students to qualify them for more options in the job market.

Most of the incoming students of Rao’s Institute of Management Studies are tested through the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (APICET). All the aspiring students wanting to get into an Institute of reputation have to appear for the APICET usually held in the month of May. To the best of our knowledge, the exact dates for the APICET 2024 haven’t yet been posted but regarding the answer key of the exam, it will be published on June 20, 2024. After the examination, the qualified students are admitted to the counseling phase of the test. The institute also looks at academic prowess of the candidates when offering them admission into the institute. To support its academic programs, RIMS has a focus on a wide range of different activities catering to the needs of students. The institute has its own Inter–Cricket League within the school to inculcate spirit of sportsmanship and team-spirit in students. Anticipating the need and significance of students’ mental health, RIMS also provide student counselling services for students as part of their holistic support. The placement and training cell also actively contributes with room to manage the placement related activities for the students so that they can move from the academic institute to the professional level. As for the detailed contact information concerning the scholarship, it has not been provided, however, the institute applies all possible efforts for many deserving candidates to complete desired education courses. Located in the core area of Nellore, RIMS is well connected to all the modes of transport system. Venkatachalam railway station – 10.4 km from the college & Venkatachalam bus stand – 9.9 km from the college. Those coming from far must use the nearby Tirupati airport which is about 113 km from the varsity. This strategic location also has the effect of placing RIMS in a location easily accessible to students from the various parts of the region hence the increased student diversity and delivery of quality student education.
